Imagine if we could predict earthquakes, just like we do weather forecasts. Until recently, predicting earthquakes was thought almost impossible.

However, a new algorithm using artificial intelligence was tested during 7 months, and accurately forecasted 70% of earthquakes a week in advance. The AI accurately forecasted 14 earthquakes, missing one, and issued eight false alarms. And it got both the location and strength almost exactly right for the ones predicted. 

This is far better than any other earthquake forecasting done before. The next step is to test the AI in more locations.
