Can mushrooms carry out computing functions? Researchers are exploring the idea of computers made of chemical or living systems, or wetware. Mushroom computers, or living computers, may allow information to be processed and analyzed in new ways. We are already seeing experimental biology-based algorithms, prototypes of microbe sensors and kombucha circuit boards. What's next?
