We live in exciting times where new scientific breakthroughs are made faster than ever and where we are taking giant leaps toward an amazing future. Being able to predict the shape of proteins, the tiny molecular machines that underpin every biological process in every living thing, is one of the toughest challenges biologists have been working on over the last decades. DeepMind just made possibly the biggest breakthrough in biology of the last decades, with the help of artificial intelligence and it's AlphaFold, being able to accurately predict the shape of proteins.
