Scientists have created a synthetic electronic skin that can heal itself and recognize injuries. 

This skin imitates human skin, sensing temperature, pressure, and more. When damaged, its layers automatically realign and heal, like real skin. It can self-heal in 24 hours when heated or in about a week at room temperature. 

This technology could improve robots' ability to sense and respond to their surroundings.
