Researchers just claimed to have discovered a superconducting material working under near-real-world conditions.

If the claim indeed turns out to be correct and can be reproduced*, it could change our world. A room-temperature, room-pressure superconductor would open up a whole new realm of technological possibilities beyond our imagination.

Imagine incredibly efficient power lines, electronics that never overheat, super strong magnets, fusion energy and more.

* Due to controversy over previous papers by the authors, there are concerns that the breakthrough may not withstand scientific scrutiny.
