Researchers have demonstrated a way to use CRISPR to eliminate heart damage in mice after a heart attack. The result is so good that it's nearly as the heart attack never happened. End goal: to develop a base editing therapy for heart attack treatment in hospitals, preventing heart damage and improving patients' quality of life.
