Imagine computers with a speed a million times faster than today. In the search for better semiconducting materials, scientists have found a material that in theory could speed up computer chips this much. 

However, we will most likely not see them, since Rhenium, a key ingredient in the material, is one of the rarest elements on Earth. But the newly discovered material gives hope to find other materials that could speed up computing speeds to incredible speeds. And with the help of new AI models discovering new materials, we could see more promising breakthroughs real soon.
