A recent study published in the journal Nature confirms that the process of photosynthesis, which drives much of life on Earth, is sensitive even to the smallest amount of light, just a single photon. 

This discovery sheds light on the remarkable efficiency of photosynthesis, as light-harvesting molecules in plants and bacteria can initiate photosynthesis with just one photon. 

This understanding could have important implications for improving crop yields and inspiring the design of artificial energy systems like solar cells and artificial photosynthesis.
