Scientists are working to simplify and make electrical stimulation within the brain safer. 

By growing electrodes directly inside the brain, they are hoping to one day provide life-saving treatments for people with conditions like Parkinson’s and epilepsy.

Besides providing a safer alternative for deep brain stimulation therapy, the technology could enable advanced brain scans and even motorized prosthetics that respond to nerve signals.
