Current storage techniques have three main problems: the storage capacity is low in density, not very robust and requires specific readers. DNA data storage solves all these problems. Imagine being able to theoretically store up to 1 zettabyte (1 000 000 000 000 GB) of data in a gram of DNA in a medium that is robust and lasts for centuries, and can be copied endlessly for free.
